Qing Ming

This week back to hometown because my family need to Qing Ming on Sunday so that my 3rd bro and 6th uncle able to make it back from Singapore. For the Chinese Qing Ming or better known as All Soul Day or Tomb Sweeping Day, it is a day to remember and honour one's ancestors at grave sites. Young and old pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, (joss) paper accessories, and/or libation to the ancestors.

My grandparent's tomb at Batu 18 or Kuala Beckham Bikam, Perak. It was damn crowded when we reach there. Real scenario of "people mountain people sea".

Without wasting any time, we walk to our grandparent's tomb and started to clean the grave. Qing Ming for us is like family reunion also. Hehe.

The young and the old will gather as well for prayer at the tomb although under the hot sun.

My 3rd bro who work in Singapore also back for Qing Ming together with my 6th uncle.

Some paper accessories offering on the tomb.

My dad always serious when prayer.

My grandparent's tomb.

My 4th uncle was placing joss stick on the tomb.

My mum showing the hell currency. So many zero on that note. Even calculator also do not have so much zero.

Some of the paper offering like XO, Kent and many more. I even saw people burning Astro, Mercedes and petrol station. Yeah... Petrol Station as well. No joke!

More and more offering. Did you see the minyak cap kapak? Haha. The packaging look so real. So commercialize and good marketing skill as well. Haha!

International brand like Loreal also got. You got money, you want anything also can. No jokes. Haha!

That all for now. Tomorrow need to wake up early to attend my boss engagement day. Will take some pictures there as well. Good night.

Coming soon.... my travel plan

My first oversea trip for this year will be my longest trip that I ever have. For this round, I will be going to fly to Yogyakarta on 15 April and travel all the way to Jakarta and flight back to Malaysia on 26 April. Grand total of 11 days of backpacking experience.

Hope this trip is going to be wonderful because I will have the chance to see nice beaches, nice island, old ancient temples, and most important life volcano mountain. We have list out the places that we must visit like Borobudur temple, Prambanan temple, Gunung Merapi, Bandung, Thousand Island and few more places. So our plan is to stay few night in Joyyakarta, Bandung, Thousand Island and also Jakarta.

Is there any more place that I should visit? Is there any food I must try? Is there anything important I should know? Welcome anyone feedback so that I could fully utilized and plan my travel itinerary more efficient.

Thank you.

Port Dickson

Just back from Port Dickson just now straight away dozed to sleep. This time together with Douglas and Kang Wei went to PD. We are supposed to head Penang but due to unforeseen circumstances we de-tour to PD.

We start our journey at 2pm from Seri Kembangan and reach there about 4pm due to heavy rain. The first thing that we buy to eat is New Zealand ice cream that we taste before last year during Melaka trip together with some old friends.

Then we started to source for a cheap hotel or guest house to stay and we managed to find one around Teluk Kemang. Cheap hotel with basic facilities which only RM60 per night. Then we walk at the beach take some picture and go buy makan makan at nearby pasar malam. Bought lots of goodies like ayam percik, popia, lekor, satay and many more with superb cheap price.

At nite, trying to find a place to sit down and chit chat and talk cock but PD is so death town. We could not find any coffee shop. End up we drop by at El Cactus which is the only pub and bistro we are managed to find along the way. Then we stop at Jimat Seafood Restaurant for some seafood dinner before we called it a day.

The next morning we went to Tanjung Tuan and we are lucky that this time is during the bird migration. Saw a lots of raptors and eagles lingering at the sky while many still trying to cross the straits of Melaka.

This time did not take much picture. Just enough to fulfill my lust. Hehe!

Oh Yeah! Who say travel in Malaysia is expensive. For 2D1N trip, we just spent about RM60 only. That include lots of foods, hotel, petrol and toll as well. Cheap ma?!

Cameron Highlands

Last weekend I went to Cameron Highlands with Chris, Evelyn and Alex. So refreshing the weather there and I still miss the breathtaking scenery. The last time I went there was during my University times which was 5 years back.

One our way to Cameron Highlands, we stop by at Latah Iskandar for some photos shot up. But I still prefer Latah Kinjang which I posted few weeks ago.

We travel along the narrow road all the way up to Cameron Highlands while enjoying the cooling breeze. We make our way to Mount Brinchang which is so narrow that only have one lane. For those who are not good at driving, please do not try drive to Mount Brinchang. Along the way, we took so many photos of green mountain of tea.

Then we headed to abandon church and take some photos.

The back of the church. Very peaceful.

At night, we have steamboat for dinner at OK Tuck Steamboat restaurant.
Cool weather + Steamboat = Perfect combination.
Then we proceed to pasar malam to buy some food like crystal jambu, fried mushroom and also some strawberry.

The next day we continue our journey to Sg Palas, Boh Tea Center. And took more pictures there.

Sea of green tea. So refreshing while we picnic by the side of the mountain.

This is the hostel where all the plantation worker stay.

Hike about 200 meters to the Boh Tea Center and took this pictures of the hostel.

The narrow road to the Cactus Valley.

Nice weather on the next day. Love the ray of light on early morning.

Taken at the Boh Tea Center. There have a platform for tourist to enjoy tea with fantastic view of the mountain. Kinda crowded when we went there because of school holiday.

Blue sky + Green green mountain = Fantastic trip.

Next will be more on the flower and strawberry or even the portraits photos.
