Hanoi - Day 3

As usual, our tour guide fetch us in front of our hotel sharp at 8am. Our next place that we wanted to visit is Halong Bay which is one of the places that I wish to go for a long time. My journey to Halong Bay took about more than 3 hours to reach and it is located in Quang Ninh province about 170km east of Hanoi. Along the way, our tour guide keep us well informed about the history of Halong Bay.

"Ha Long" is literally translated as "Bay of Descending Dragons" and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its famous scenic rock formations. Once we reach the site, I am so surprised to see sea of "junks" or better known as tourist boats that resemblance Chinese sailing vessels. Somehow, it is just over-crowded and can't even enjoy the unique panorama view of Halong Bay.

Sea of boats that waiting to fetch tourist to Halong Bay. Way too crowded!~!

Another type of junk.

Black and white view of Halong Bay.

We hop into one of the boat and started cruising along the Halong Bay. The weather is just nice but a bit hazey. The view of Halong Bay is just fantastic if you could minus out all other boats. We stopped at one of the island to explore one of the famous cave Thien Cung gratto. Exploring the cave is fun thing to do. Make me feel like I am at Gua Tempurung but somehow the cave are more interesting with the explanation by our tour guide.

One of the limestone does resemblance the dragon according to the local.

This cave is supported by four large pillars as told by our tour guide.

Picture taken at the end of the cave.

We continue to cruise along Halong Bay while enjoy the scenery.

Some of the local selling local fruits to tourist at rip off price. But the pineapple is extremely sweet but small in size.
